I never said I was Julia Child!

Organic Chicken? Check. Peeled carrots? Check. Organic Brown Rice? Check. Only the best for my little buddha. Oh, did you get a food processor? Check again. Brand new, just out of the box.

After I finished making the chicken soup (a separate pot for the little bundle of joy because I didn't want to load hers up with tons of sodium that was in the regular broth), I pureed it with an ice cube to make it the perfect temp for my little angel. So what am I met with? See for yourself:

So, I forgave her because, after all, who could resist that face?

Something much more exciting and important has happened since I last updated - our little princess is crawling! Ahh!! Let the craziness begin!!

Welcome to our little space!

I'm guessing (or hoping, for that matter) that everyone reading this already knows Jorge and I had our beautiful baby girl, Lucy, February 13th. She was born 7 lbs, 8 oz, and 19" long.

She has shown us so much in such a small amount of time. For starters, Jorge and I came to the stunning revelation that we don't know everything. It has been an amazing experience to watch her grow these past five and a half months.

The first three months were difficult. Lucy had acid reflux and breastfeeding was a surprisingly difficult skill we both had to learn! Luckily, we figured it out, and her acid reflux seemed to have healed itself. She has remained in the 50th percentile for height and weight since birth, and I feel like we're raising a petite ballerina!
She seems tiny compared to other babies her age (some even younger). She always seems to catch on quickly, and is hitting all her milestones early or right on time. All that crazy smiling from Mommy and Daddy really paid off, and she flashed us her first gummy grin at about 4 weeks. We were thrilled - this kid might actually like us after all!

Those first few months were insane - we were nervous, the baby cried, and well, we went through the same first-time parents scenario I'm sure every parent goes through.

Lucy's personality really started to show once she started learning new things like blowing raspberries, rolling, laughing, and my favorite - giving kisses. She is our happy-go-lucky girl, but I'm afraid she's inherited her mama's attitude. She sure is feisty and knows how to really ham it up. There is never a dull moment with her.

She'll be turning six months - a whole half of a year on August 13th. I feel as though I just blinked and time flew by. They told me that's how it would be, but to be honest, I didn't believe anyone! Soon our little princess will be crawling, talking....she is already eating solid foods! Her mesh feeder has become our new best friend! She loves blueberries, apples and watermelon. Hopefully she isn't as picky as her daddy was as a kid

We are blessed beyond belief to have her in our lives. I feel like I've been waiting for her forever.

It feels so sweet to snuggle up with her (and she loves her snuggles) and watch her grab at her daddy's nose. She certainly keeps us on our toes and I can't wait to see what she shows us next.
